"You have to learn how to ride a bicycle!", said Arthur Schnitzler to Hugo von Hoffmannsthal and soon drove through "young Vienna" with the bike. The Jewish Museum Vienna offers an exciting exploration of Jewish history exclusively for cyclists. Meeting point is at the Museum and the goal is to get inspired by the bicycle Victoria Flash which Theodor Herzl used to bike around in summer in Vienna. Among other things you will see how people dressed in the Fin de siècle while riding a bicycle. Also we will take a look at the shops where people bought this outfit. In Theodor Herzl's euphoric text for cycling in the Arts section of the new free press in 1896 he talks about the ring road and therefore we will get out of the museum and go to the Dorotheergasse over the ring to the Prater Street - so we can learn about Jewish history by bicycle.

Bicycles can be stored right in front of the museum.

Participation: 18 years and bring your own bike at your own risk

If the weather is bad the the tour will be inside the museum.
