Stones of Remembrance for victims of the Shoah

New Stones of Remembrance are handed over to the public for victims of the Shoah ("Holocaust") in the 2nd district of Vienna


10:00 to 10:30 a.m.: Vienna 1020, Franz Hochedlingergasse 20

Dora Hekler, née Erlbaum in 1881, was deported to Maly Trostinez on 2 June 1942, she did not survive. Four other Jewish housemates were also victims of the Shoah.

10:30 to 11:00 a.m.: Vienna 1020, Franz Hochedlingergasse 24

Collection camp for at least 59 Jewish persons. Franziska, Rudolf and Othmar Bauer were arrested for "smuggling Jews" in September 1942. Franziska died on March 18, 1943 in the police prison in Vienna. Rudolf Bauer was deported to Auschwitz on March 16, 1943, and died there on August 25, 1943.
